The Rules.

No.1 - No powerplaying. You are in control of your character(s) and your character(s) only.

No.2 - Keep active, this RPG's survival is based on journal entries and threads. To keep it alive we ask that you complete at least a journal entry or thread/log every two weeks. That's just the minimum activity, it's always encouraged to post more often and keep yourself up to date with what's going on.

If you're unable to post then let us know in the HIATUS post. If you intend to take a hiatus for more than two months it might be best to consider dropping the character. This does not mean you cannot come back and take up a new character later on.

No.3 - Keep OOC drama to a minimum. IC drama is allowed and highly encouraged since it gives your characters something to post about. We're all adults here, if something rude is directed at your character, the player shouldn't be the one offended.

No.4 - All threads & logs should be posted to [info]ryears_log with the appropriate tags (learn about TAGS. If your thread/log includes any rated topics that mention anything that might not be considered work safe then please remember to include the proper warnings, etc. Threads and logs should be posted in the following format:

No.5 - You are allowed to play more than one character if you can keep up with them, however, we have a little condition set up for that. Please avoid taking up characters that will undeniably interact with each other often such as: two siblings, same house, etc. The player can apply for two characters right off the bat at the start of the game. For their third, they must wait until after a month of being in the game (and prove that they can indeed keep multiple characters alive and growing in the game).

No.6 - Proper use of spelling and grammar is very much encouraged, as is Britpick. Yes mistakes happen just as shit happens and we will over look minor accidents. But spell-check was created with very good intentions, use it and love it.

No.7 - Slash, het, femmeslash, etc is all welcomed here. If you have a problem with it then this game is probably not the game for you. However, we would also like to caution players to make it believable, not everyone in the city will be gay or confused.

No.8 - School Have Rules, please keep this little fact in mind. We won't list out a school's code of conduct and rules because we expect you all to be aware of them. Students won't leave the grounds whenever they want without serious repercussions, electricity doesn't work on Hogwarts grounds and you cannot Apparate inside either, etc.

No.9 - Teenage pregnancy? No, thank you. Male pregnancy? No, no and no!

No.10 - Thread/log reply length should be adequate to reply to, this is important. This means no liners, two liners or three liners. We understand that occasionally a tag can be short here and there in a long thread but every tag in a thread/log shouldn't be that short. Replying with short replies makes it hard for the people playing with you to reply back with ample amount of information. Remember the sample RP in the application asked for 250 words, that gives a rough idea of what the average minimum tag length should be.

The mods reserve the right to add or clarify rules if necessary, there will be a post made to the OOC community if we ever do so. (We most likely won't make anymore changes.)
